The power supply situation in Odessa is more complicated than in the region, with consumers receiving electricity for only 2-3 hours due to damage from Russian attacks on substations, but the heating season is not over yet to avoid increased load from alternative heating sources.

The situation with electricity supply in Odessa is more complicated than in the region. Light consumers will be turned on for 2-3 hours. This was reported to journalists by the head of the Odessa OVA Oleg Kiper, reports UNN.

"Odessa is the biggest consumer, and the load goes to Odessa. That is why it is tangible how Odessa reacts to the facilities being hit," Kiper noted.

He also said that subscribers have been receiving light for several hours at a time, but they plan to improve this situation by the end of the day.

Kiper also said that the heating season due to the blackout in Odessa will not end yet.

"We sat down and did the math. If we turn it off today, and it's cold outside, everyone will turn on air conditioners and heaters. We will save 10 megawatts, but we will get the load plus 20. That's why we decided not to turn it off," he said

On Monday night, March 25, the Russian Federation attacked two substations in the southern region of Ukraine. Equipment in Odessa and the region has been damaged, so power outage periods will be extended, Ukrenergo reported.
