"Over the last day, the enemy conducted 160 combat engagements, 158 of which took place in the eastern operational zone. As of this morning, 38 enemy attacks have already taken place in our eastern operational area. This figure is slightly higher at the moment, but combat engagements with the enemy continue in various directions. The defense forces are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from advancing deep into the territory of our country. They are destroying the occupants in all directions," Voloshyn said.
He added that the enemy is trying to stretch our forces and resources in different directions to attack in different areas.
"In one direction, he regrouped and conducted active combat operations. He sees that he is unable to move deeper into the territory, and the enemy then tries to move in another direction, in particular, to conduct active assaults and combat operations with the support of artillery and mortars. And the fact that we are quite annoyed by Russian aviation, which is covering the actions of the infantry," Voloshyn added.
According to him, despite the heat, the enemy is trying to conduct assault operations throughout the day.
"The enemy is trying to carry out some kind of assault and active combat operations throughout the day. There is no specific time of day for it and it uses this around the clock," emphasized the spokesman.
He also noted that there is every hope that Ukrainian soldiers have every chance of pushing the Russian occupiers out of Chasovyi Yar.
"Yes, like all the Defense Forces, we hope that we will push the enemy back and prevent him from advancing further. The Defense Forces will be able to and will push the enemy out as soon as possible, including from the place where they are now," Voloshyn said.
According to the spokesperson, over 280 attacks were registered in the Chasovyi Yar area over the past day, and 10 enemy assaults were conducted on the city.
