The SAPO has completed a pre-trial investigation in the case against former Sumy Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko and former Infrastructure Department official Oleksandr Zhurba for receiving an undue benefit of UAH 2.13 million. The NABU detectives opened the case file for the defense to review. This was reported by the SAPO press service , UNN reported .
The SAPO prosecutor decided to complete the pre-trial investigation in the case against the former mayor of Sumy and his accomplice, the former director of the Department of Infrastructure of Sumy region, who were exposed last October for soliciting and receiving an especially large amount of unlawful benefit, namely UAH 2,130,000.

The prosecutor's office also said that NABU detectives had opened the case file to the defense for review.
The pre-trial investigation established that Lysenko and Zhurba extorted money for resolving the issue of setting a new economically justified tariff for household waste management by the executive committee of the Sumy City Council for a legal entity and promised not to create artificial obstacles to the company's business activities.

Sumy Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko and Director of the City Infrastructure Department of the Sumy City Council were served a notice of suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit in the amount of UAH 2.13 million.
His accomplice, the Director of the Department of Infrastructure of Sumy Region, is also charged with Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On October 2, the city mayor and the director of the Department were caught red-handed immediately after receiving the third installment of the agreed upon funds - UAH 1,430,000.
Last December, the mayor of Sumy, Oleksandr Lysenko , had his suspension from office extended for another two months after being accused of receiving UAH 2.13 million in undue advantage.
