The medical examination was unable to determine the cause of death of Azov defender Oleksandr Ishchenko. Earlier, blunt trauma to the chest was reported as the cause of death in the Russian detention center.

The medical examination was unable to determine the cause of death of Oleksandr Ishchenko, a defender of the Azov regiment, who died in a Russian detention center, due to “putrefactive changes in the organs and tissues of the corpse.” This is reported by the Russian edition  “Mediazona”, according to UNN

Reportedly, the medical certificate of death of 55-year-old Oleksandr Ishchenko from the detention center, which was received by the court, states that “the cause of death has not been established due to putrefactive changes in the organs and tissues of the corpse.

At the same time, on August 7, the deputy commander of the brigade, Svyatoslav Palamar, said that Azov fighter Oleksandr Ishchenko died in Russian captivity due to blunt force trauma to the chest.

The autopsy was conducted in Ukraine, according to the documents, presumably when the body was handed over to the relatives. 

Recall

On July 31, it was reported that one of the captured Ukrainian soldiers of the Azov regiment , Oleksandr Ishchenko, died in Rostov-on-Don. On that day, Ishchenko was not brought from the pre-trial detention center to the court hearing, and his lawyer informed the court that the soldier had died.

According to the Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, who spoke with the soldier's daughter, the man had died 9 days before.

In this regard, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights sent letters to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the UN, and the Russian Ombudsman to find out the official cause of death.
