MP Oleksandr Kachura will transfer ten times the amount recovered by the court from Tetyana Chornovol and other defendants found guilty of defamation to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This amount will be used to purchase drones for the unit in which Chornovol is listed, UNN reports.
In his Facebook post, Kachura said that back in 2021, he won a lawsuit after an information campaign was launched against him about his alleged involvement in the organization of the traitor Medvedchuk. The court found the information to be unreliable, and ordered those who disseminated it to refute and remove it, which Pryamyi and Channel 5 TV channels did.
However, Tetyana Chornovol remembered this case only now, when the court fee was automatically charged from her account and the account of the other defendant. In this regard, she publicly appealed for help, accusing the MP of leaving her without combat payments. But it turned out that it was only about UAH 3 thousand, as Kachura did not demand compensation for moral damages.
"These amounts were automatically written off by the state as court costs for the losing party. There was no claim for compensation for 'moral damages' in the lawsuit, the fact that justice was done was enough for me. I will multiply these two amounts (UAH 3073.6 + UAH 4831.2 = UAH 7904.8) by 10 times (UAH 79048). I will round it up to UAH 100,000 and use my salary to buy drones, as I promised," Oleksandr Kachura wrote.
Other soldiers, whom Kachura constantly helps, reacted to the situation. Dmytro Kukharchuk, a commander of the 3rd Separate Brigade, said that it was unacceptable to hide behind the war in such cases.
"When the NABU summoned Tetiana to testify, she invited them to the front, while at that moment she was on Lipska Street in Pashynskyi's office. I hate it when someone hides behind the front, being at that moment in the government quarter," Kukharchuk wrote and added that none of the politicians helped more than Kachura.
