The government of Mateusz Morawiecki's Law and Justice (PiS) party failed to win a vote of confidence in the lower house of the Polish parliament. This is reported by RAR, according to UNN.
Details
266 members of the Sejm voted against the confidence in Morawiecki's government, 190 deputies were in favor. No one abstained.
The Sejm session began after 10 am. The first item on the agenda was a speech by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, in which he summarized the successes of his team and expressed his vision of Poland of the Future. The speech lasted a little over an hour.

After the MPs' speeches, the parliamentarians asked questions. The next item was a vote of confidence in the government.
Polish media speculate that Morawiecki will now resign and the Sejm will instruct the leader of the parliamentary majority, Donald Tusk, to form a new government.
Addendum
The next item on the agenda will be the election of the prime minister and the subsequent 10- and 5-minute speeches by factions and groups.
The vote for the new prime minister is expected to take place between 18:45 and 19:00 local time. After that, there will be another hour for MPs to speak.
As a reminder
Poland held parliamentary elections on October 15. President Andrzej Duda instructed Mateusz Morawiecki, a representative of PiS, which won the election, to form the government, and on November 27, he swore in the new government.
Morawiecki's government has two weeks to win a vote of confidence in the Sejm, and if it fails, Donald Tusk will be the next to form a new cabinet.
