Military to receive Military ID: Parliament approves creation of new register

The Verkhovna Rada supported a draft law on the creation of a Unified State Register of Military Personnel. The system envisages the introduction of Military ID and integration with e-health to simplify accounting and service delivery.

The Verkhovna Rada has approved a draft law on the creation of a Unified State Register of Military Personnel, which provides for the introduction of Military ID, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said on Wednesday in Telegram, UNN reports.

"The Rada approved the creation of the Unified State Register of Servicemen (No. 12066). "There were 254 votes in favor," Honcharenko wrote.

According to him, the draft law provides for the following:

- a register is being created to modernize military records and introduce electronic services for the military and their families.

- assigned a Military ID, a unique electronic identifier for automating data in the defense sector, receiving benefits and social services.

- The register will be integrated with the electronic healthcare system to facilitate the exchange of data on conscripts and reservists.

- military personnel will be able to access special discounts, loyalty programs and new services, including through the Army+ platform.

According to the MP, the information will be stored for 70 years.
