An M-346 Bielik military aircraft crashed in Gdynia, Poland, UNN reports, citing RMF FM.
The plane crashed while preparing for an air show. Marek Pawlak, a spokesman for the General Command of the Armed Forces, told RMF FM that the pilot was a very experienced pilot.
The "machine" belonged to the 4th Training Aviation Wing. The incident occurred during preparations for Saturday's shows.
The plane was performing various types of acrobatics at low altitude. Suddenly, there were some difficulties in control. The pilot did not have time to avoid a collision with the ground and crashed.
There was one person on board. The wreckage has already been extinguished.
The recording, obtained by RMF FM's hotline, shows a falling plane, followed by black smoke rising over the airport.
After the rescue operation is completed, the State Commission for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents will investigate the circumstances of the crash.
The celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Gdynia Naval Aviation Brigade scheduled for Saturday will not take place because of the crash.
