If the Kremlin's use of an intercontinental ballistic missile is confirmed, it will be possible to state that Putin's Russia has degraded to the state of North Korea. This was stated by Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgiy Tykhyi during a briefing on Thursday, UNN reports.

If the use of an intercontinental ballistic missile is confirmed, we believe that it will be possible to state that Putin's Russia has degraded to the state of North Korea, which from time to time regularly launches such missiles of this type, frightening its neighbors and the world

- Tychy said

Prior to that, he notedthat Ukraine is currently awaiting expert opinions to determine the specific type of this new missile that was used by Russia this morning.

At the moment, we do know that intercontinental ballistic missiles have such characteristics in terms of flight characteristics. But we are waiting for the conclusions of experts in order to state with specific facts what type of missile it was, and then we will be ready to speak more broadly and in more detail

- Tikhiy said.

However, he emphasized that the strike itself and the use of a new type of missile have been confirmed in principle.

"The fact that this is a new type of missile proves once again that Russia does not seek peace, despite all the statements and comments made by sources in various media. It seeks war and the expansion of this war, and it is already expanding this war, geographically and in terms of the use of various types of weapons," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

In addition, he informed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is already taking a number of political and diplomatic steps in response to Russia's use of a new type of weapon against Ukraine.

"In particular, we have already addressed our partners to inform them about what happened, about what we know at this moment. We are also already engaging UN mechanisms, NATO mechanisms, and plan to engage OSCE mechanisms to respond to this event. That is, there will be formal appeals, notes, and convening of certain formats to wake up the world and draw attention to what happened," Tychy said.

He believes that the slow reaction of the partners is dictated by the fact that they themselves are studying the data on what happened in order to be able to specifically assess what has been applied.

"We call on the international community, every leader, every state that respects the UN Charter, to immediately respond to the use of new types of weapons by Russia, to the obvious increase in the level of weapons used against Ukraine. That is, not to wait for detailed expert opinions. We already have the fact of the use of new weapons, we urge you to respond," Tychy said.

In addition to statements, Mr. Tykhyi emphasized that Ukraine needs concrete actions from its partners.

"In addition to statements, we need concrete actions from our partners and allies to protect lives, we are talking about strengthening the air shield over Ukraine, providing Ukraine with systems that can intercept this type of missile. There are such systems in the world. Accordingly, it is time to transfer them to Ukraine. In general, we need to strengthen military, political, humanitarian and financial support for our country in the fight against Russia," emphasized Tychy.
