Mali has announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Ukraine after comments made by a spokesman for the Ukrainian military intelligence service (GUR) regarding the fighting in northern Mali. At the end of July, Malian soldiers and mercenaries of the Wagner group were killed in the fighting.
The Northern Tuareg of Mali reported that at least 84 Russian Wagner mercenaries and 47 Malian soldiers were killed during several days of fierce fighting in the north of the country.
