The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that the results of the Russian "elections" organized by the occupiers in the temporarily occupied territories did not surprise anyone, but several conclusions can be drawn - that Russia tried to show the legitimacy of the "elections", in particular by involving foreign observers, and that Russia was making a show of the TOT of Ukraine, UNN writes.

"Pseudo-presidential elections were held in the TOT of Ukraine. The results did not surprise anyone. We can draw several conclusions from this situation," Lubinets wrote on Telegram.
According to him, "first, Russia tried to show the legitimacy of the 'elections', in particular by involving foreign observers." "Unfortunately, this demonstrates that Russian propaganda is working. We need to continue to explain to foreigners why such 'elections' are legally null and void. Moreover, a trip to the TOT of Ukraine through Russia is an illegal crossing of the state borders of Ukraine," the Ombudsman said.
"Druzhiy.rf was making a show of the TOT of Ukraine. Allegedly, these "elections" were conscious and voluntary. People were photographed with ballots, and fictitious and unreasonable figures on the turnout for the "vote" were reported. Let's remember that in the temporarily occupied territories, Ukrainians are forced to live at gunpoint and under the threat of being kidnapped because of a real manifestation of a conscious position," Lubinets said.
"In any case, everything that Russia does in the TOT is a violation of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, international law. The temporarily occupied territories are Ukraine. Everything Russia does there is a deliberate violation of human rights," the Ombudsman emphasized.
