Firefighters have extinguished a large fire in an open area in Mykolaiv. In the morning, there were only some smoldering pockets that were impossible to access, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Wednesday at the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region, UNN reported.

"In Mykolaiv, firefighters extinguished a large-scale fire in an open area. Currently, no open fire is observed. As of 08:00 a.m. on July 24, there were still some smoldering areas, which are impossible to access due to the areas densely cluttered with tall shrubs and the potential danger of ammunition detonation," the regional State Emergency Service reported on Facebook.
According to the SES, SES units remained on duty at the site, and in the event of a re-ignition, which periodically occurs under the influence of the wind, they promptly take measures to prevent the spread of fire.
"The situation is under control. There is no threat to the residential sector," the State Emergency Service said on Telegram.
