This year, our region has already received UAH 700 million from the state budget to purchase housing for 300 veterans and family members of the fallen. The additional resource will help provide homes for even more of our defenders.
Thanks to the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, more than UAH 4.1 billion will be allocated from the state budget by the end of the year to cover the housing needs of 1,836 families of veterans from among IDPs and persons with war-related disabilities of groups 1 and 2 and families of the fallen.
"The priority task is to create local veterans' spaces. Currently, there are already 3 veteran hubs in Brovary, Boryspil and Irpin in Kyiv region, which operate on a "one-stop shop" basis. Soon, we plan to open a space in Bila Tserkva, and we are working systematically to ensure that comprehensive support institutions for defenders appear in every community," said the head of the Kyiv RMA.
There are also two Veteran Development Centers in the region based at Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University and Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav.
The state is actively implementing the institute of specialists to support war veterans and demobilized persons. And Kyiv region is a leader in terms of applications from candidates for this project. These specialists will provide an individualized approach and help in the adaptation of defenders to civilian life.
"State programs to promote employment and support veteran businesses also play an important role in the integration of veterans. And this year, a number of new measures have been envisaged under the Kyiv Regional Program to Support Defenders of Ukraine and their Families - in addition to dental services, resources have been allocated for maxillofacial surgery for military personnel and veterans. And Kyiv region is constantly working to expand the types of assistance to heroes," Kravchenko added.
