The Iranian side considers Israel's presence at COP28 "contrary to the goals and guidelines of the conference and left the conference venue in protest," the IRNA news agency quoted Energy Minister Ali Akbar Megrabian, who headed the Iranian delegation, as saying.

Iran's move follows the resumption of fighting by the Israeli Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip against the Islamist Hamas organization after Hamas, according to the IDF, violated a truce after a 7-day pause in fighting.
