The International Olympic Committee has banned Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. This was reported by UNN with reference to the IOC press service.
Details
It is noted that the Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today agreed on a number of specific implementation aspects for the participation of individual neutral athletes (AIN) at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In addition, the IOC Executive Committee also discussed and approved a number of elements of the protocol regarding the participation of AIN in Paris. In particular, according to the IOC decision, AIN will not participate in the parade of delegations (teams) during the Opening Ceremony, as they are individual athletes.
