A 40-year-old Ukrainian woman suffered a brutal attack in Gdynia, northern Poland. An unknown assailant struck the woman twice on the head with a wooden stick. The police are conducting an investigation, reports Onet Wiadomości, writes UNN.

The incident occurred on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. local time. According to preliminary data, the attacker attacked the woman from behind, hitting her on the head with a wooden cane. The victim sustained injuries, her face and clothes were covered in blood. After the attack, the perpetrator fled the scene in an unknown direction, reports Trojmiasto.pl, which received a video from the scene from a reader.
The woman was taken to the Gdynia City Hospital. After a medical examination, the victim was released. Her life is not in danger.
The search for the perpetrator is ongoing.
The police are trying to identify and arrest the perpetrator. Gdynia police spokesman Marek Kobyalko said that officers are analyzing the collected evidence and checking any information that could help clarify the circumstances of the incident. He also added that "the results obtained so far do not indicate that the attack was motivated by national prejudice," the publication writes.
