A man went on a shooting spree in the town of Kiliya in Odesa region - he shot through the fence of his neighbors and then went to a playground where two 15-year-old girls were, the regional police department reported on Monday, UNN reports.

On August 17, in the evening, police received a report that in the city of Kilia, on Gagarin Street, a man "fired shots from the street through the fence of neighbors towards their house and left in an unknown direction," law enforcement officers said.
The police tracked down the offender, who was reportedly "a 73-year-old local resident, and seized an air pistol with a Flaubert cartridge and one round from him.
"From the neighbors, the attacker went to the playground where two 15-year-old girls were playing. One of them ran away, frightened by the revolver, and the other stayed behind. The man was drunk and talking to the child," the police said.
He reportedly explained to the police that he was shooting at his neighbors' dogs, which allegedly interfered with his rest.
"Fortunately, neither people nor animals were injured. During the inspection of the scene, investigators seized eight spent shell casings. They will be sent for examination along with the weapon and the cartridge," the police said.
The incident was registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which qualifies as hooliganism. The police are interviewing the children and their parents and other witnesses to the incident.
After all the necessary investigative actions have been carried out, the final qualification of the defendant's actions will be given.
