In Odesa, a 10-year-old girl fell through sidewalk tiles while walking and ended up in a deep pit about 4 meters deep, UNN reports with reference to the State Emergency Service.
Details
According to the State Emergency Service, concerned bystanders immediately rushed to help, but it was too risky to pull the girl out on their own: there was a threat of a secondary collapse that could have buried the child.
People remained at a safe distance and constantly talked to the girl so she would not panic. Rescuers arrived promptly and brought the child to the surface.
Throughout the ordeal, the father remained in contact with his daughter; he later thanked the emergency workers for the rescue, unable to hold back his emotions.
The girl was examined by medics; her life is not in danger.
