In the Stryi district of the Lviv region, a freight train struck a 19-year-old boy. The young man died on the spot, reports UNN citing the Lviv region police.

According to police, the fatal incident occurred on June 20 at around 4:50 p.m. near the city of Stryi.
A freight train hit a local resident who was lying on the tracks.
Investigators of the Stryi District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway transport, resulting in the death of a person.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.
Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
