The SBU has served a notice of suspicion to Russian commander Aleksandr Dostoyaev, claiming that he ordered the shooting of civilians in Bucha. The alleged death of Dostoikov is not expected to stop the investigation

The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion to another Russian commander who received a "hero of Russia" for shooting civilians in Bucha. This was reported by the SBU, UNN reports.

Details

The SBU identified the commander of the Russian army, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Dostozhaev, commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 104th Regiment of the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Airborne Forces, who, according to the special service, committed war crimes on the territory of Ukraine. The soldier ordered the execution of four civilian residents of Bucha, the SBU said.

It was established that in early March 2022, he led the actions of enemy paratroopers who captured Bucha. His subordinate unit took an active part in the so-called "cleansing" and filtration activities aimed at suppressing the resistance movement and intimidating residents of the region, the SBU reports.

During one of these punitive measures, according to the SBU, enemy paratroopers shot 4 civilians on the roadway for two hours on the orders of their commander. The victims were a local resident and three volunteers who were passing by in their own car. All victims died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

Currently, the SBU is checking information about the possible death of Rezhyhayev in the war in Ukraine.

"His death is not a reason to stop the investigation and identify all accomplices and perpetrators of the crime," the SBU added.

Dostyagayev is suspected of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder.

As a reminder, in October

the SBU reported that a racist who received a "Hero of Russia" for killing civilians in Bucha was served with a notice of suspicion.
