British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps canceled a trip to Odessa last week for "security reasons". This was reported by the BBC and Sunday Times, reports UNN.
Details
British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps decided not to go to Odessa, after the Great British intelligence agency warned about leaked information about the plans of the British defense chief's delegation to Russia.
Shapps, accompanied by the head of the British Army, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, was preparing to visit Odessa in early March, during a three-day visit to Ukraine.
A previously planned trip to Odessa was canceled just hours before departure based on intelligence indicating that the Kremlin was aware of Shapps' plans.
Recall
It was subsequently revealed that an RAF plane carrying Mr. Shapps to England from Poland earlier this week jammed the GPS signal while flying over the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
In the Odessa region they are restoring, strengthening and creating new defensive fortifications to prevent the enemy from seizing new territories and expelling the occupiers.
