Ukraine is recording a decrease in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections. According to epidemiological monitoring, during the week of April 13-19, 2026, 109,172 people fell ill with ARVI, which is 1.3% less compared to the previous week, UNN reports with reference to data from the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Details
Among those who fell ill, 44,094 were adults, and another 65,078 were children under 17 years of age. Despite the overall decrease in the incidence rate, 2,394 ARVI patients were hospitalized, 1,400 of whom were children.
At the same time, experts note that in all regions of Ukraine, the incidence rates currently correspond to the background intensity level, which indicates a stabilization of the epidemic situation and a gradual end to the seasonal rise in influenza.
Separately, doctors are recording a slight increase in the incidence of COVID-19. During the reporting period, 70 people fell ill, which is 25% more than a week earlier. At the same time, the absolute figures remain low and do not significantly affect the overall epidemic situation.
What to do to protect yourself from the flu
Doctors remind about basic preventive measures that help reduce the risk of infection.
In particular, they recommend regularly washing hands with soap for at least 30 seconds, ventilating rooms and wet cleaning, keeping a distance in crowded places, covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and if you get sick, staying at home or using a protective mask when in contact with others.
