In Odesa region, a five-year-old boy was hospitalized with alcohol poisoning. According to the police, the child is now at home, his condition is satisfactory, UNN reports.

The incident happened on New Year's Eve. The police found out that while the adults were doing the housework, their five-year-old son, left unattended, drank wine from a glass on the table. The mother, seeing the child drink the alcoholic beverage, immediately called an ambulance.

"The boy was provided with the necessary assistance in the hospital and released home. Social services will conduct an inspection of the family's living conditions today. The issue of bringing the mother to justice for improper performance of parental duties under Part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses is being decided. The sanction provides for a warning or a fine in the amount of 850 to 1700 hryvnias," said Serhiy Chepil, head of the police department No. 2 of the Podil district police department.
