Kyiv region has received almost 65 thousand textbooks for grades 5-6 from the European Union, said Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Materials Agency , on Sunday. He noted that the EU initiative "School Textbooks for Ukraine" is funded under the European Erasmus+ program, UNN reports.

International partners funded the printing of certain editions of textbooks for grades 5 and 6. The cost of the textbooks received by the educational institutions of Kyiv region is over UAH 4 million

- Kravchenko wrote on Facebook.

In particular, schools in Kyiv region received them:

  • Computer Science textbook for the 5th grade - 32,511 copies.
  • Art textbook for the 6th grade - 32,266 copies.

This year, other international partners - Japan and the United States - also donated textbooks to schools in Kyiv region.

We have adapted to the challenges posed by Russian aggression. We are building modern and comfortable shelters, increasing the number of school buses, actively implementing school catering reform, and rebuilding educational institutions. And we are grateful to all international partners who support us in this. This assistance allows us to provide access to education, modern technologies and resources that are critical for children's development

- said the head of CRMA.
