In France, due to abnormal heat, 845 schools and colleges will not work on Monday, and about 1,800 educational institutions will change their work schedule. This is reported by Le Figaro, writes UNN.
Details
According to French Minister of Education Édouard Geffray, the closed institutions are mainly located in departments where the highest – red – level of weather danger has been declared.
In total, there are about 60,000 schools in France, but some of them will temporarily not accept students or will operate in a limited mode due to risks to the health of children and staff.
Another 1,800 institutions will adjust their schedule
The minister noted that the situation differs in different regions, so decisions are made at the local level.
There is a principle of continuity of public service, but when the safety of staff or children may be called into question, the institution must be closed
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Île-de-France region announced the allocation of one million euros for 500 examination centers. The funds are planned to be used for the purchase of fans, water spray systems and other equipment for cooling premises.
