Disney has presented the official teaser for the film adaptation of the popular American animated movie Lilo and Stitch. In the 30-second teaser, the well-known blue alien creature named Stitch destroys a sand castle on the coast of Hawaii, the setting of the film.
The official magazine says that the film "establishes a connection between a lonely human girl, Lilo, and a dog-like alien, Stitch, who is created as a force of destruction.
The film will be directed by Dean Fleischer Kemp, and Chris Sanders will reprise his role as Stitch. The cast also includes Maya Kealoho, Zach Galifianakis, Sydney Agudong, Billy Magnussen and Courtney B. Vance.
The movie adaptation of the popular cartoon will be released 23 years after the first animated film, which grossed $273 million worldwide.
The plot tells the story of a six-year-old girl, Lilo, and her teenage sister, Nani, who live in Hawaii. The girls have taken in a genetically modified "dog" called "Experiment 626" (Stitch). In recent years, Lilo and Stitch has had many spin-offs for both television and film. The film will premiere on May 23, 2025.
