"Investigators sent a petition to the court to apply compulsory medical measures to the suspect in the form of hospitalization in a specialized institution," the Kyiv police said.

According to the police, an earlier forensic psychiatric examination found that the suspect had certain health disorders, was under medical observation, and due to her condition at the time of the crime could not realize and control her actions.

"Pending a court decision, she will be held in a medical institution providing psychiatric care," the police said.
