The government's Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine CERT-UA, which operates under the State Special Communications Service, recorded new cyber attacks against Ukrainian defense enterprises and security and Defense Forces. The attack began with phishing emails disguised as official messages from the Ukrainian Union of industrialists and entrepreneurs. They referred to an invitation to a conference dedicated to the transition of products of domestic enterprises of the military-industrial complex to NATO technical standards, held on December 5 in Kiev
It is reported that the email contained a hyperlink "attachment contains important information for your participation". Clicking on this link and then opening attachments may have caused your computer to become infected.
"The UAC-0185 group, which has been active since at least 2022, is responsible for the attack. The group focused on stealing the credentials of Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp messengers and DELTA, TENETA, and nettle military systems. Less often, cyber attacks were carried out to gain unauthorized remote access to the computers of employees of defense enterprises and representatives of the security and Defense Forces," the State Special Communications Service informs.
