In Ukraine, the incidence of COVID-19 is expected to increase in August-September. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin during a briefing, according to a UNN correspondent.

It is predicted that we will most likely see growth in August and that the same growth will continue until September. In September, the so-called epidemic season of SARS and flu will begin. Usually, we are gradually approaching the point where in September and October we will start to see the first manifestations of other respiratory viruses circulating. Other respiratory viruses, they limit the circulation of COVID-19 sufficiently, because it never happens that there are 3 or 4-5 different respiratory viruses circulating

- Kuzin said.

Summarizing, he noted that it is likely that in August-September Ukraine will register an increase in the incidence.

Also, according to forecasts, it should not exceed the indicators of the inter-epidemic period, that is, it should not lead to the introduction of anti-epidemic measures

- Kuzin said.

He also said that a little over 2,500 people in Ukraine have been vaccinated against COVID-19 over the past month and noted that  this is the lowest number in the summer months and since the beginning of the year.

Every year we observe that in March-May, even in June, the vaccination rate is maintained at 8-10 thousand. July and August are the quietest months for the population, when the number of cases is very low

- Kuzin said.

Addendum

Kuzin reportedthat there are more than 500 thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine in  Ukraine.

Kuzin also stated that there is no risk of local quarantines or restrictive measures in Ukraine  due to COVID-19.

Kuzin reportedthat at least 10 different subtypes of coronavirus are circulating in Ukraine, including the FLiRT strain, which was registered for the first time in the world in March this year. The number of cases has increased in the country over the past month, but there are no predictions of an epidemic.
