The Security Service has collected evidence against collaborator Mykola Cherkashyn, the head of the so-called "dnr media holding". This was reported by the press service of the SBU, UNN reports .
Details
It is noted that in this "position" he replaced the traitor Roman Besedin, who headed the occupation information resource until July 2023 and received suspicion in absentia from SBU investigators. Since then, Cherkashyn has been managing one of the Kremlin's key mouthpieces in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region.
The hostile "media holding" includes 24 online and print media, 9 TV channels and 6 radio stations. All of them, on the instructions of the collaborator, publicly justify the aggressive war against Ukraine and the war crimes of the Nazis,
Cherkashyn-controlled information resources are also actively "dispersing" fakes about the operational situation on the front line and near the frontline of Ukraine. For this purpose, the collaborator engaged dozens of "military commanders" whom he selected from among local supporters of the Kremlin regime.
In addition, Cherkashin engages subordinate propagandists to "help" the central TV channels of the Russian Federation to prepare custom-made stories, in particular from the eastern front.
According to the investigation, Cherkashyn previously worked in various media projects in the region. After the seizure of the regional center, he supported the Kremlin-controlled DNR terrorists. Subsequently, the defendant joined the circle of trustees of Gauleiter Pushilin, who then personally facilitated his appointment as the "CEO" of the occupation "media holding".
Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served Cherkashyn a notice of suspicion in absentia under Part 6 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (conducting information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state and/or its occupation administration).
Since the offender is located in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice.
