The Brovary City Veteran Center “Veteran PRO” is actively implementing new measures to support the military and their families. In particular, they organize trainings, various therapies and art events. The head of the center, Tetiana Gordienko, told UNN that an exhibition of children's drawings “The Power of Spirit on Canvas” is planned for the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“We are currently holding an art event  called 'Strength of Spirit on Canvas'. The exhibition will run until December 6, the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The children will draw pictures of our defenders from the photos. The exhibition will include drawings of active military, those in captivity, those who were released from captivity, and our fallen heroes,” said Gordienko.

According to her, students of the Brovary School of Art paint portraits together.

“We want to make this exhibition for the whole city, we will invite everyone, there will be free admission - we will open it on the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we are already working on it. More than 30 portraits are already in the works. The exhibition will not be ordinary, because it will show defenders through the eyes of children. We really wanted to combine these two symbols, because our future depends entirely on our defenders , and children are our present. That's why we wanted to emphasize this importance and show that everyone is on their own front, and even children try to express their gratitude through a portrait,” said Gordienko.

In addition, she said, the Brovary City Veterans Center held its first aromatherapy class, which was attended by military wives and mothers.  “We were analyzing smells, aromatherapy itself, selecting aromas, talking about calming aromas, those that give energy, those that should be used during a pandemic or disease,” said the head of Veteran PRO.

Gordienko added that such meetings will become regular - once a month. “We plan to launch the second such training on fragrances in December. It will focus on how to create a fragrance. We will try to use  essential oils to create a fragrance that suits you,” she said.

In addition, the veterans' hub  hosted a community day “Diaries of Resilience of Brovary Region” despite the shelling of Ukrainian territory by Russia. During the meeting, participants described their own stories of resilience.

A screening of Women of Donetsk Region is also planned in the near future.

Tetiana Gordienko also reminded that diving rehabilitation classes for war veterans are also being held in Brovary.

Recall

Earlier, UNN reported that the city authorities of Brovary are developing a program  for 4-5 years to improve accessibility and comfortable movement of people with disabilities. In particular, the Brovary community plans to equip special lifts for people with disabilities in apartment buildings. According to Mayor Ihor Sapozhko, this option is optimal for the community's old apartment buildings.

Olena Akopian, an advisor to the mayor of Brovary, told UNN that all public institutions in Brovary are accessible to people with disabilities . All major shopping centers are equipped with ramps, elevators, and hygiene rooms for people with disabilities. Various commercial establishments and organizations have begun to seek consultations more often to properly equip or redesign their entrances to make them accessible to people with disabilities.
