The collision of a minibus and a DAF road train in Lviv region killed the drivers of both vehicles, police are establishing the circumstances of the accident, the regional police reported, UNN reports.

The accident happened today, August 12, at about seven o'clock in the morning on the Kyiv - Chop highway near the village of Pidbirtsi, Lviv district.
According to preliminary investigations, a Renault Master minibus driven by a 22-year-old resident of Lviv region and a DAF truck driven by a 55-year-old resident of Kyiv collided. As a result of the collision, the drivers of the vehicles died at the scene. It has also been preliminarily established that the driver of the minibus drove into oncoming traffic
Law enforcers are establishing the circumstances of the incident, the issue of opening criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code is being decided. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
