One worker was killed and another injured in an explosion at a plant of the state-owned oil refiner Indian Oil Corp (IOC) (IOC.NS) in the southern Indian city of Chennai. This was reported to Reuters by two representatives of the fire service, UNN reports .
The explosion occurred during welding work in an ethanol storage tank, officials said on condition of anonymity.
The cause of the incident is still unknown, they added.
Officials are on the scene assessing the damage, the sources said, without providing details.
