An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 occurred near the Bonin Islands in Japan, Reuters reported with reference to the US Geological Survey (USGS), UNN reports.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 503.2 km.
The U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center said that, according to available data, there were no tsunami warnings as a result of the earthquake.
