An earthquake has occurred in the Sea of Marmara at a distance of about 100 kilometers from Istanbul. This was reported by the Disaster Management Authority (AFAD), UNN reports .

According to the agency, the quake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred at about 22.26 local time, with the epicenter at a depth of about seven kilometers near the island of Marmara.
At the same time, seismologists at the Candilli Observatory reported that the epicenter was located at a depth of about four kilometers, estimating the magnitude at 4.2.
There are no reports of destruction so far.
