It is almost impossible to completely destroy the Ukrainian energy system. Nor will Ukraine completely “lay down” the Russian energy system.
This was reported by the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov in an interview with TSN, UNN reports.
When asked whether Russia could destroy Ukraine's energy system and whether we would retaliate, Budanov replied:
All these nodes are very heavily protected. Just like we are trying to protect them. Similarly, similar measures are taking place in Russia. Only they have chosen to build up their air defense system more. They have much greater capabilities for this. Because they are manufacturers of such systems. Therefore, to say that we are going to put their energy system on the line, well, it is a bit incorrect
Budanov noted that Ukraine will not put it down completely.
They will not give us the whole thing either. The Soviet system was as branched as possible and duplicated in three or four places, or in certain nodes. It is possible to make life difficult. To completely destroy it is almost impossible
