13 children returning by bus from a hike back to a summer camp in Germany fainted. The bus driver, despite the heat of up to +30°C, did not turn on the air conditioning in the cabin. The children were diagnosed with heatstroke and circulatory problems, and the police are investigating the driver. This was reported by BILD, according to UNN.
“In northern Bavaria, 35 boys were returning by bus from a hike back to their summer camp. Despite the heat of up to +30°C, the air conditioning was not on in the bus. Passengers complained of being stuffy, but the driver did nothing. As a result, 13 children aged 8-15 became ill and fainted,” the newspaper writes.
It is noted that 55 firefighters, doctors and rescuers, including three helicopters, arrived at the scene.
“The children were diagnosed with heat stroke and circulatory problems. Some of them were hospitalized in nearby hospitals. The police are investigating the driver and finding out why he did not turn on the air conditioning,” the newspaper adds.
