"Treasures of Crimea" returned to Ukraine from the Netherlands after almost 10 years of trials, the National Museum of History of Ukraine reports, UNN.

Details

After almost 10 years of trials, artifacts from four Crimean museums, which were presented at the exhibition "Crimea: Gold and Secrets of the Black Sea" in Amsterdam, returned to Ukraine. The Allard Pearson Museum transferred them to the National Museum of History of Ukraine. It is there that they will be stored until the de-occupation of Crimea

- the post says.

It is noted that in November, the items from the Crimean museums were independently inspected, after which they were carefully packed in accordance with museum rules. Then the artifacts were transported to Kyiv. Currently, experts are examining the condition of these items.

We are talking about 565 items, including ancient sculptures, Scythian and Sarmatian jewelry, and Chinese lacquer boxes that are 2,000 years old.

It is worth reminding

From February to August 2014, the exhibition "Crimea: Gold and Secrets of the Black Sea" (De Krim. Goud en geheimen van de Zwarte Zee) was held in the Netherlands . It featured items from the collections of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and four museums in Crimea.

In February 2014, Russia began its occupation of the peninsula. It became impossible to return valuables from Crimean museums to the territory not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities - a lawsuit began in the Netherlands.
