Turkmenistan Airlines has imposed restrictions on routes to Russia after the Embraer E190 plane crash in Kazakhstan. This is the fifth airline to suspend flights to Russia, UNN reports citing the BBC.

Details

Turkmenistan Airlines suspended flights on the Ashgabat-Moscow-Ashgabat route for a month. The airline had been operating them twice a week.

The reasons for the restrictions on flights to Russia are not yet clear.

Before that, four airlines had already suspended flights to some Russian cities. Among them are Azerbaijan Airlines, whose plane crashed on the Baku-Grozny route, as well as Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air, Israel's El Al, and the UAE's Flydubai.

Recall

Azerbaijan Airlines claims “external interference” as the cause of the Embraer 190 crash. Starting December 28, the company suspends flights to 10 cities in Russia due to possible safety risks.
