Lawyer and public activist Inna Miroshnychenko showed the conditions of the Novosilska special school in Ternopil region, which costs almost UAH 20 million a year and where in November alleged human rights violations in the form of sexual and psychological violence were discovered, UNN reports.

Miroshnychenko posted a photo on Instagram from a monitoring visit to one of the institutions in the Ternopil region. This is the Novosilska special school of the Ternopil Regional Council.

"The budget allocates almost UAH 20 ,000 ,000 a year for this institution. It is impossible to establish how much charitable money is spent," Miroshnychenko said.

The lawyer points out that the facility's restroom lacks soap, toilet paper, towels, and hot water.

Miroshnychenko also notes that children are bathed once a week on Fridays from 20:00 to 22:00. There are also showers, which can also be used only on Fridays from 20:00 to 22:00.

According to her, the situation with toys is also sad.

All children's rooms have a few soft toys. But near the principal's office, there is a beautiful renovated playroom under the key. It has a bunch of toys, some of which are still in their packaging.

Miroshnychenko emphasized that children are not allowed there. After all, this is a room from the "volunteer and inspection" route.

"None of the children I interviewed had been there," Miroshnychenko wrote.

She also said that children are sent to a psychiatric hospital for misbehavior.

"This is not recorded anywhere. If they treat you badly even there, they give you injections, after which you are like a vegetable," Miroshnichenko said.

She also reported that two cases of sexual violence between children had been identified. The younger victim is 8 years old. None of the controlling authorities were informed about this.

"The children were not provided with medical care or psychological assistance," Miroshnychenko emphasized.

Addendum

Representative of the Ombudsman for Children's Rights Iryna Suslova saidthat some children aged 8-10, who have been studying at the Novosilska special school of the Ternopil Regional Council since the first grade, still do not know how to read.

In a special school in Ternopil region, facts of violations of children's rights and violent acts against students were revealed. Criminal proceedings were initiated under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
