Another bridge over the Desna River, destroyed by russians during the war, has been rebuilt in Chernihiv region. This was reported by the Service for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Chernihiv region, UNN reports.

Details

The Service emphasized the completion of the reconstruction of the 300-meter bridge across the Desna River, which ensures proper passenger and freight traffic.

This is one of three bridges across the Desna River that have been rebuilt and damaged during the fighting. The missing part of the span structure was restored, and the surviving part of the bridge was overhauled

- the statement said.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 25 bridges were reportedly destroyed in Chernihiv region. After the liberation of the region, a critical logistical situation developed: many settlements could only be reached by detour, and in some places food was transferred to the other side of the river using cables and a winch. Later, pontoons were built across the river and temporary bridges were set up , but they were inoperable during the winter ice drift.

Recall

In January, construction began near Chernihiv on a new bridge over the Desna River, which is being built with a unique design featuring the longest monolithic span made of post-tensioned concrete. This 628-meter-long bridge will be the longest bridge across the Desna River.
