President Zelenskyy said that the military would destroy the enemy’s launchers. In just one night, on August 5, Russia launched 28 missiles, most of them ballistic, at Kyiv and its suburbs.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council that Ukraine would destroy Russian launchers, UNN reports.

The military knows that it needs to destroy the enemy’s launchers, thereby reducing strikes against Ukraine

- the Head of State emphasized.

During the night of August 5 alone, Russia launched 28 missiles at Ukraine, most of them ballistic, which could not be intercepted. The enemy’s main target was Kyiv and its outskirts, where the Russians systematically targeted logistics centers and warehouses. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were also damaged.

Against the backdrop of intensifying attacks and a shortage of Patriot missiles, experts are increasingly speaking about the need to "take out" launchers. Former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Herashchenko proposed two ways, the first of which is to strike enterprises involved in the supply chain of critical components — primarily solid-fuel rocket engines. These targets can be hit by long-range drones and Flamingo missiles, which have already demonstrated successful strikes against Russian defense-industry plants.

The second way, which requires thorough intelligence and planning, is to destroy the launchers.

"To do this, thorough work must be carried out with our partners’ intelligence services regarding data on launch sites. The United States has reconnaissance satellites capable of tracking the movement of Iskander missiles to launch sites at night using infrared and radar sensors," he explains. Then, according to him, Fire Point strike drones can be used, connected via a mesh network (a type of decentralized communication between individual devices).
