On Tuesday, April 2, the President of Ukraine signed a bill on an electronic cabinet for persons liable for military service. This was reported by UNN with reference to the bill's card on the Verkhovna Rada website.
Details
It is noted that in February, the Rada supported the bill and submitted it to the president for signature. Today, on April 2, it was returned with the President's signature.
As explained by the Ministry of Defense, the document is critically important for Ukraine's defense capability.
The implementation of its provisions will facilitate the rapid collection, processing, and use of military data, and will finally transfer services and processes for military personnel into a convenient digital format.
The draft law provides for the improvement of the register of conscripts, persons liable for military service and reservists, in particular, in terms of establishing interaction between the registers, using data on military registration, etc.
In particular, an e-services portal for servicemen and women will be created. For example, it will be possible to grant the status of a combatant online, offline and automatically if the necessary data is available in the system.
The document unlocks the digitalization of the Ukrainian army and will allow it to act more mobile and efficiently both on the battlefield and in the rear
Addendum
In addition, the draft law gives the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine the opportunity to strengthen cyber defense and the right to host its IT systems in the military cloud storage of NATO member states.
This will also free up air defense assets that are currently protecting national data centers from constant missile attacks (instead, this resource will be used to cover other military and civilian infrastructure);
