President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new Secretary of National Security and Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Litvinenko and said that the National Security and Defense Council was starting its renewed work. The head of state announced this on Friday, March 29, in Telegram, UNN reports.
"We are launching the renewed work of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The first thing is more predictability, this particular function. We need to strengthen Ukraine's ability to predict and influence the processes on which the national security of our country depends. The second is the continuation of all current tasks of the NSDC system. And especially with regard to the sanctions policy of our state. The third is doctrinal work. The clarity of national guidelines and consistency in their implementation is what is needed both now and after the war. The fourth is cybersecurity and information," the President said.
He pointed out that the NSDC has the potential to do more to protect against enemy destabilization operations and coordinate all state institutions in the field of cybersecurity.
"And fifthly, the work of the National Security Council, draft decisions, control over the implementation of decisions - all this, of course, must continue. The obvious priority is the defense of our state and the protection of our society," the Head of State added.
