President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine seeks to end the war, but not at the cost of concessions or recognition of the Russian occupation. He emphasized that diplomacy should be a way to end the war, not a way to forgive the aggressor. He said this during an interview with the French edition of Le Parisien, the correspondent of UNN reports.
"We know that if we do not stop Putin, he will continue to destroy us because he does not believe that we have the right to exist, that we are a separate country. We are an independent country and Ukrainians know this," Zelensky said.
He emphasized that the West has enough power to put Putin in his place, and this is not a matter of military action on the part of Ukraine.
If we want the war to end, we will do everything to end it. If we can end it through diplomacy, we will do everything, but diplomacy does not mean forgiving him (Putin - ed.). Diplomacy does not mean fixing the occupation as something legitimate on his part - no. This is a way to end the war diplomatically, and here we need a strong America and a strong Europe to force Putin to end the war diplomatically. But to end the war, not to forgive him for everything. These are different things. If today we don't have the strength to regain all our territories, the West may have the strength to put Putin at the table and deal with this war diplomatically
