The Wagner PMC confirmed the deaths of its mercenaries in Mali during battles with Tuareg rebels near Tin Zawatin. According to various sources, the losses could range from 20 to 82 people.

The Wagner PMC has confirmed its losses in Mali. The company's statement was published in the telegram channel "Wagner Unloading", which is close to the PMC. This was reported by the BBC, UNN writes.

Details

The statement says that from July 22 to July 27, 2024, Wagner PMC fighters fought with Islamic "Tuareg separatists" on the outskirts of Tin Zauatin.

The sandstorm allowed the "separatists" to regroup and increase their numbers to 1,000 people, the statement said.

After that, the command of the Wagner PMC decided to deploy additional forces to the combat zone, but it did not help.

The statement does not mention the number of dead Wagnerians, but, according to the newspaper, citing Russian sources, the losses as a result of the clash on the Malian-Algerian border could have ranged from 20 to 50 people.

Earlier, the publication, citing a source who had previously served in the Wagner PMC, said that at least 82 mercenaries had been killed.
