The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine has announced the approval of a state program to strengthen Ukrainian national and civic identity until 2028. The program covers key tasks in patriotic education and civic education, the ministry said on Tuesday, UNN reports.

As indicated, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has completed the main stage of implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the Basic Principles of State Policy in the Field of Strengthening Ukrainian National and Civil Identity.
"During the year, the team developed and approved a new Strategy, the concept of the State Program, amendments to the Budget Code and more than a dozen regulations," the agency said.
The program focuses on key strategic objectives:
- National-patriotic and military-patriotic education;
- Civic education;
- Establishing cooperation between all stakeholders;
- Formation of a human resources system;
- Research and methodological work.
"Ukrainian identity policy is a priority for the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The state program is designed to unite society around national values within the country," said Matviy Bidnyi, head of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
"The state program will provide a solid foundation for fostering patriotism and civic awareness. Its development and implementation is the result of the efforts of many people and organizations," added his deputy, Andriy Chesnokov.
The military, veterans, representatives of civil society organizations, executive authorities and local governments, as well as development partners were involved in the creation of these documents. The program was developed until 2028, and, as stated, it covers all regions of Ukraine and more than a dozen ministries.
