According to Suspilne.Sport, after the gymnast's post, the Ukrainian gymnastics federation opened disciplinary proceedings against Nikolchenko.
Former Secretary General of the Polish Gymnastics Federation Piotr Piotr Dec, the former secretary general of the Polish Gymnastics Federation, responded to the post and expressed hope that the Ukrainian woman would not "go through the Polish horror."
He later noted that the vice president of the Ukrainian of Gymnastics Iryna Blokhina had contacted him and apologized to the people of Poland for Nikolchenko's statements.
The Ukrainian Federation is shocked by this situation. An official letter of apology to the Polish Federation is being sent.
Instead, the gymnast herself apologized in a post on Instagram, explaining that her words were the result of a psychological breakdown. A few days later Nikolchenko was expelled from the Ukrainian national team.
