Ukraine has returned five children aged 6 to 17 from the territories temporarily occupied by Russia. This was reported by Daria Zarivna, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, on Telegram, UNN reports.
According to her, among the evacuated children are a brother and sister aged six and 10, who have not attended school or kindergarten for three years.
Because of their pro-Ukrainian stance, parents did not send their children to Russian institutions saturated with propaganda
Another 10-year-old girl lived in a village that had been completely isolated from the outside world since the beginning of the full-scale war - the Russian occupiers "did not allow any humanitarian aid to be brought in, not even food, medicine or clothing.
Also, 15-year-old Igor and 17-year-old Denis were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine. According to Zarivna, the Russians forced the boys to undergo military training and handed them draft notices to serve in the Russian army.
"For the guys, returning to the government-controlled territory became a matter of life and death," added Zarivna.
She noted that these children are now on the territory controlled by Ukraine, but thousands more remain in Russia and the temporarily occupied territories.
Recall
Last week, as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, five Ukrainian children and their families returned to Ukraine. Among them are three newly-adult children and two children aged 11 and 14 who were persecuted for their pro-Ukrainian position.
