In January, Ukraine imported $99 million worth of drones, which is 2% of total imports. Approximately 98% of this amount was made up of drones imported from China. This makes drones one of the ten most imported goods in Ukraine.
During the same period, $114 million worth of phones were imported, accounting for 2.2% of total imports. Approximately 70% of this amount is represented by phones imported from China.
For comparison, for the entire year of 2023, the share of imports of the "unmanned aerial vehicles" category was 0.7%, which is equal to $441 million. Compared to the year 2023, the share of Chinese imports increased to 21.4% from the previous 16%. At the same time, the share of imports from the European Union fell below 50%.
